This post is sponsored by Woofpup. I have been compensated to help spread the word about their fun new website, but I only post things that I feel will be beneficial to my readers.

Meet Ruby, a Woofpup. What’s a Woofpup, you ask? It’s a collectible stuffed toy from Woofpup.com, a website that bills itself as “the ultimate online community for dog lovers.” Woofpup.com users can upload photos of their dogs, share stories, view other users’ pups, and enter the Woofpup of the Month contest. The winning dog has a limited edition stuffed toy made in his or her honor, and the lucky owner takes home $500!

Wish you could take home another live dog instead of a stuffed one? Not so fast! Here are five reasons why a Woofpup is better than a second dog:

The winning dog has a limited edition stuffed toy made in his or her honor, and the lucky owner takes home $500! 1.) You can take her shopping.

Unlike a real dog, who can’t enter most stores unless he is a service dog, a Woofpup can just tag along in your purse. She’ll give her honest advice on those shoes (they’re FABULOUS!) and, if you’re very lucky, she might even treat you to a new top. Dogs love treats, after all!

Nothing at all, in fact. Think of the savings! Plus, you won’t have to agonize over labels or panic over how to properly prepare that newfangled dehydrated raw food. She also won’t fight with your current dog over his leftovers — she is, after all, a true lady.

Forget anesthesia, anal gland expressions, and yearly shots — if disaster strikes, all you need is needle, thread, and a few simple sewing skills. You won’t need to buy pet insurance for her, spay her, or worry that she’ll cause a ruckus in the vet’s waiting room.

Did you hear that, Henry? A Woofpup doesn’t bark at the vet’s office. What a concept!

No training necessary for your Woofpup! You’ll save a bunch of money on treats and classes, and you won’t have to worry about attitude or stubbornness. Plus, she’ll be a great example for your current dog, who, if he is anything like Henry, could use a little bit of practice in the obedience department.

Had a ruff day? Get some bad news? Unlike a real dog, who might not be too keen to cuddle, a Woofpup is always eager to curl up under a blanket with you. If all else fails, she would love to share a pint of ice cream with you in front of Netflix and, unlike certain canine family members, doesn’t have to avoid chocolate. Mint Chocolate Chip, here we come!

Jackson is my favorite because he reminds me of my buff cocker spaniel. Same color and curlish hair!

Haha I do too! Until I get a car, I have to settle for the stuffer version as a second dog 🙂

Thank you! And, yes, Riley is definitely a cutie! I can’t wait to see all of their Woofpup of the Months!

Ruby is my favorite. I just recently lost my dog Ruby to old age and it’s reminds me of her so much!

Aw, I’m so sorry for your loss! It’s always so hard. I have a stuffed version of my last dog, Tux, that I keep as a memento.

Ha! Always those boyfriends 😉 My boyfriend would love a lab mix, but then I have to remind him that he’s a full time student and we don’t have a car. A Woofpup suffices in the meantime!

  4. LOVE THIS POST! The whole time I was reading (and thoroughly enjoying the post) all I could think was “and there’d be no additional dog hair!” 😉

I want one in the likeness of each of my dogs!

  5. This is exactly the kind of brother Gremlin wants, one that doesn’t play with his toys or try to share his bed with him! Perfect!

  6. This WoofPup is adorable! They have a very cool website too. Over the summer I wrote and asked them if they will be opening a sister site for cats anytime soon. Unfortunately, it is not in the plans. I signed up to vote on the dogs anyway. 🙂

  7. She’s cute, but I’m glad my second and third dogs are real dogs! She would make a great gift for someone who isn’t quite ready to have their own dog.

  8. O M G THIS IS ADORABLE!! I love it!! Ok, I have 4 dogs, so this could be my 5th dog :D! And the pictures.. So cute!! I’m so sad the giveaway is only US based 🙁

  9. I’m going to say Ruby – she did such a great job of modeling for you!
I have a golden pup and all three are curly haired pups, and miss Reese needs a comrade as she is out numbered by boys!

  11. “WOOFS” for WoofPups! And extra “woofs” for your adorable pics! Such cute situations. Still smiling about Ruby with her ear in bandages! Also, congrats on being a Nose-to-Nose finalist!

  12. Hi Miss Rochelle & Henry dog! CONCATULATIONS on your BLOGPAWS nomination! Woot Woot! Mom hopes to meet you both in purson at the confurr-ence. A woof pup, too, won’t drool on things or smell like stale potato chips like my Basset Hound minion does. Tee hee hee!
